Your learning programme

This programme provides 12 months of access to StoneGrid’s online learning resources, including course materials, wiring diagrams, checklists, practical guides and recorded walkthroughs. Strengthen your understanding before, during and after practical training.

  • Gain hands-on experience during two days of one-on-one practical training with solar equipment.
  • Visit a guided solar installation site and see how solar PV works in practice.
  • Continue learning with ongoing StoneGrid materials and student support.
  • Receive a StoneGrid Engineering Certificate of Completion.

Training appointments

Five two-day appointments per month. Book at least four days ahead. No training on Sundays or South African public holidays; practical training and guided site visits are subject to availability.

Assessment

Learners are assessed through a practical installation assessment and a short theory quiz.

Certification

Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a StoneGrid Engineering Certificate of Completion – Practical Solar PV Installation Fundamentals.

Your Year as a StoneGrid Student

Your programme enrolment includes a full year of learning resources and student support. Registration is free; access follows enrolment approval and proof of payment.

Study Material Access
Course manuals, wiring diagrams, checklists and recorded walkthroughs available throughout your 12-month programme access.
12-Month Student Status
Stay a registered student for a year — revisit material, join refresher sessions and keep learning after the course ends.
Discounted PV GreenCard
Students get the opportunity to pursue PV GreenCard certification at a reduced rate compared to the usual cost.
Job Opportunities
Access to installation work and job placements shared with our student network as opportunities become available.
Payment Details
Registration is free. The R3,500 per person course fee is only payable when you enrol for a training date — pay by EFT and upload your proof of payment. Early birds pay just R3,150 — book and pay 21+ days before your training dates and save 10%.
